A guy that states he has complied with all the rules, is fully vaccinated, and uses Australia’s vaccine passport app got flagged after he went out to a plant nursery where someone tested positive for the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. You know all about Omicron. It’s the one that has morphed into the common cold. What did he get for his trouble? Without a trial he was imprisoned in a COVID hotel (they call it a medi-hotel).
Mr Ferguson said he had always followed the rules and wanted to protect those who were vulnerable in the community from catching COVID-19, but it was hard not to feel frustrated.
“You do go through mixed emotions … considering you’re vaccinated and the situation you’re put in at this time of year, it’s going to be pretty difficult for a lot of people being pulled away from their families at a time when you should be out celebrating,” he said.
“It’s quite frustrating that the government has opened the borders to allow people to celebrate with their families, which I did understand to some extent, but it now means there are quite a few people who are going to be affected.
