Don’t worry that Mayor Lightfoot might be racist worry about the construction of real institutional racism

The Little Dictator is not happy with white people

Mayor Lori Lightfoot of my hometown, Chicago, Illinois, has outed herself as a possible racist. Here is a quote from the 2 page letter she sent out. The emphasis on two words are mine.

I will be exclusively providing one-on-one interviews with journalists of color.

Then in the very next sentence talks about fighting for diversity and inclusion.

As a person of color, I have throughout my adult life done everything that I can to fight for diversity and inclusion in every institution that I have been a part of and being Mayor makes me uniquely situated to shine a spotlight on this most important issue.

I don’t give a damn if Mayor Lori Lightfoot might be racist. Racist people exist everywhere. What I care about here is the institutional racism that is being constructed into our government against white people. Institutional racism didn’t exist in our government before. Yes, people were racist and people in power did racist things. But, racism itself was not embedded into our laws or our Constitution. What is happening now, with hate crime legislation and elected officials openly discriminating against white people, is the construction and embedding of racism into our governmental institutions.

This is wrong and needs to stop now. Oh… I almost forgot. Mayor Lightfoot never mentioned Asians in her letter. Does she hate Asians too?
