Hiking at Watson Mill Bridge State Park

Watson Mill Bridge is the longest covered bridge in the State of Georgia. It’s only 90 minutes from my house so I thought, why not check it out! Godfrey and I took that opportunity to get in a little over 3 miles of hiking as well.

The trails at Watson Mill Bridge State Park are rated easy. But that doesn’t mean they’re not enjoyable. On the Watson Mill Bridge State Park Loop there are little signs with information about the plant and animal life in the area as well as some info on wildfires. There are benches along the trail for people to sit and admire this dense pine forest.

When we started out it was about 40 degrees and was in the mid-40s by the time we were done. On a beautiful sunny fall day there was no need for a jacket. We hiked two trails, the State Park Loop and Watson Mill Ridge Loop. Godfrey got some swimming in and we took some nice pics by the bridge.
