Abortion access is not Reproductive Health. Words are supposed to mean things

I’m sick of hearing the term “reproductive health” used to refer to abortion. The two are diametrically opposed. Everyone knows it but no one is saying it. The news just keeps repeating the bullshit.

Let’s go to the wikis!

Abortion

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus.

Reproductive

Reproductive – of, relating to, or capable of reproduction

Reproduction (or procreation or breeding) is the biological process by which new individual organisms – “offspring” – are produced from their “parent” or parents. Reproduction is a fundamental feature of all known life; each individual organism exists as the result of reproduction. There are two forms of reproduction: asexual and sexual.

Health

Health, according to the World Health Organization, is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.”

Abortion – termination of a fetus

Reproductive Health – biological process that produces offspring that are in a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being.

How the fuck can anyone equate the two with a straight face!
