I was feeling a little nostalgic while grocery shopping and decided to pickup a couple boxes of Pop-Tarts. It’ll never happen again. I saw them on sale for $1.99 a box at my local Kroger and thought it would be interesting to try them again. I haven’t had one in well over a decade… maybe two. The reason it’s been so long is I don’t eat much processed food anymore and the last time I bought them I was disappointed from the memory of what they used to be when I was a kid. I didn’t think it could get any worse. Boy was I wrong. They’re not even worth the $1.99 sale price.

Shrink-flation must have hit these “pastries”. They look smaller and thinner. And just take a look at the pathetic frosting job!
People must still be buying these because there is a lot of shelf space devoted to them. The good thing is I didn’t waste much money. If my grandkids don’t want them then they’re headed for the trash bin.
Lesson learned.
