Pentagon brass refused Trump’s call for soldiers to protect the capitol on January 6th

It’s in writing folks. Trump indeed requested heightened security on January 6th but the Pentagon somehow overruled a sitting President of the United States.

Transcripts show that General Mark Milley said President Trump requested National Guard or active duty soldiers to protect the capitol because of an expected large number of protesters. Here’s the quote from President Trump according to the transcript, “Make sure that you have sufficient National Guard or soldiers to make sure it’s a safe event… I don’t care if you use Guard or soldiers, active duty soldiers, do whatever you have to do, just make sure it’s safe.”
