The post-Weinstein Court of Public Opinion has an overflowing docket. I think now that we’ve segued away from some Trump hysteria and moved on to sexual harassment and sexual assault hysteria it’s time to remember that we are supposed to be a nation of laws and not of men (or women as the case may be).

All the accusations that have been flying about deserve to have their moment in a court of law. That is to say they deserve their moment in court if any laws were broken and if the statute of limitations has not run out. If you’re going to accuse someone of a crime then press charges and have it out in court. If you’re publicly admitting to committing some of these crimes, which some of these men have, then turn yourself in, plead guilty, and serve your time.

Is this a terrible thing to say? Maybe. But, if we don’t stop this public prosecution of people where does it end?
